How Positive Bedtime Routines Help Children Sleep Better and Worry Less

For many children, bedtime is when worries finally become quiet enough to be heard. It's often the moment when fears about tomorrow begin to surface. That's exactly why bedtime became one of my favorite times with my own children.

In this video, I explain how Huckleberry & Henry and the Angel Conversation Cards work together to create meaningful bedtime conversations.

Why Bedtime Matters

Children process so much during the day. Sometimes they simply need a safe space to talk before they sleep. Instead of asking, "Did you have a good day?"

Try asking:

  • What made you smile today?
  • What was difficult today?
  • What are you grateful for?
  • What do you hope tomorrow brings?

These questions invite connection instead of one-word answers.

A Bedtime Routine That Builds Peace

Children don't always need more books. Sometimes they simply need a few extra minutes with someone who will listen. Those quiet conversations help children:

  • release worry
  • process emotions
  • practice gratitude
  • strengthen family connection

And perhaps most importantly...

They help children end the day knowing they are deeply loved.
